Cary 3500 UV-Vis spectrophotometer is an innovative and versatile architecture representing a major advance in UV-Vis spectroscopy. A fundamental redesign simplifies the experimental process and increases confidence in results. In addition, the compliance function is further improved by the DI function (Date Integrity function. Option) linked with OpenLab software.
“This solution for the Cary 3500 UV-Vis adds efficiency, making it is easier to collaborate in a distributed environment,”
“It also provides a more secure solution where all systems store their data in a central location that’s backed up at the server level.”
Geoff Winkett, vice president and general manager of Agilent’s Molecular Spectroscopy Division.
The Agilent Cary 3500 UV-Vis spectrophotometer offers photometric performance and unique measurement capabilities. Cary 3500 has two options— a compact system designed for a single sample and reference analysis and a multicell system that simultaneously allows up to four temperature experiments across eight cuvette positions. With proven performance and low cost of ownership, the Cary 3500 UV-Vis will streamline your experimental design and amplify confidence in your results.
Agilent Cary 3500 Features:
Measure samples at four temperatures across eight cuvette positions in a single experiment and collect data from each cuvette simultaneously.
Control the temperature of your samples accurately and quickly from 0 to 110 °C without water, noise, or messy cables using a unique and fully integrated air-cooled Peltier system.
Control UV-Vis thermal ramp measurements at up to 40 °C/min using highly accurate, solid-state digital Cary temperature probes that control the experimental temperature inside the cuvette.
Ensure analytical accuracy for small-volume measurements with a highly-collimated and uniform beam of less than 1.5 mm width, coupled with permanent optical alignment of the stationary cell holders.
Reduce data processing time and calculation errors with more than 50 built-in and customized calculations that can be saved and applied automatically to any method used routinely.
With a double-beam spectrophotometer featuring leading optical technologies, achieve research-grade photometric performance, stability, and range.
Be up and running in minutes by following the intuitive video tutorials in Cary UV Workstation’s Help and Learning Center.
Meet data integrity standards—provides the technical controls to acquire securely, process, report, and store data in laboratories that must follow the compliance guidelines of FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, GAMP5, as well as ISO/IEC 17025 and EPA’s 40 CFR Part 160.
Store and manage your Cary 3500 Multicell UV-Vis spectrophotometer data in locally secured storage on the workstation PC or a central storage location.
Deploy the OpenLab software suite and get optional secure database storage for electronic records, complete administration for users and access privileges, software licensing, and security settings—e-signature workflow and enhanced audit trail review capabilities.
How It Works
Streamline your experimental design and amplify confidence in your results.
The Cary 3500 Multicell UV-Vis spectrophotometer simultaneously scans the entire wavelength range in less than a second on all eight channels. The system is available in ambient or temperature-controlled configurations, tuned to your application needs. The temperature-controlled configuration comes with an air-cooled Peltier system. With the multizone software add-on, each pair of cuvettes can be held at a different temperature—so you can do four experiments at once.
Streamline your UV-Vis experiments.
The Cary 3500 UV-Vis is powered by a xenon flash lamp requiring no warmup, with full spectrum scans collected in less than a second. With no moving parts, your results are accurate and reproducible—every time—even when working with very low sample volumes.
With video guidance for new or infrequent users, a built-in Help and Learning Center reduces training time. Plus, with its small footprint and robust design, the Cary 3500 requires minimal maintenance.
Cary UV Workstation—intuitive and secure UV-Vis software
The Cary UV Workstation software has built-in applications such as kinetics, concentration, wavelength scanning, and temperature-based measurements. It is compatible with the Agilent OpenLab software suite of products to help you meet global regulatory requirements.
QC processes in the pharmaceutical industry often use this reliable, well-established approach, and data integrity is crucial. The Agilent Cary 3500 Multicell UV-Vis spectrophotometer simultaneously measures samples, standards, and controls, eliminating most analytical variables.
Structural or conformational transitions are often associated with changes in UV-Vis absorbance. UV-Vis spectroscopy can study conformational changes in molecules such as proteins and DNA/RNA. UV-Vis is often used in protein and nucleic acid thermal melt analyses, and sample temperature control is key in ID testing. Read the application note and case study to see how the Cary 3500 UV-Vis allows accurate, reproducible ramping up to 40 °C/min. Or browse our comprehensive guide to thermal melt analysis by UV-Vis.
Monitoring reaction kinetics with UV-Vis
UV-Vis is ideal for analyzing reaction kinetics when the change in reactant or products produces a change in absorbance at a specific wavelength over time. Single-point kinetics monitors a single wavelength, and scanning kinetics monitors a wavelength range. The Cary 3500 Multicell UV-Vis collects data quickly (up to 250 data points per second) —perfect for scanning kinetics measurements. Watch the video to see how the Cary 3500 measures multiple samples at different temperatures simultaneously.
